Art Gallery_SpeakeasySince The Art Gallery is primarily known for the impressive selection of paintings, sculptures, and glass/metal jewelry they have for sale from artists in Cleveland and beyond, it’s worth noting that they have a number of new products available. With etched glass from Jaguar Art Glass, elegant watches from Eduardo Milieris of Watchcraft, and stunning sterling silver jewelry with larimar stones, The Art Gallery provides customers with a wide assortment of unique gifts. Their upcoming “Giggles” art show will also allow visitors to view and potentially purchase artwork from several talented artists. Humorous pieces from Leslie Edwards Humez, George Kocar, Gerry Shamray, and other local artists will be hung up at The Art Gallery on July 1st. The reception for this art show is scheduled for July 8th.

The Lake County Historical Society’s DTW Prohibition Speakeasy Party at The Art Gallery will take place on July 16th at 7pm. Tickets will not be required to attend this local event, so residents from all over the Mayfield and Eastlake areas will be free to take part in this fun and educational affair. During the party, guests will be able to enjoy food from Cannon Deli and purchase specialty cocktails from The Wild Goose. Members of the historical society will undoubtedly be dressed in their 1920s finery, and guests are encouraged to come in costume as well! Along with food, beverages, music, and art, this local event will also feature a fascinating presentation about the underground liquor trade in Willoughby during the Prohibition era. Since The Art Gallery’s own basement was used as a speakeasy in the 1920s, guests will have the opportunity to see what life was really like during this time.
